Company Profile
AirVisual is privately held and has been in operation
since 2001.The vision for our company began on September the 11th, 2001,
when our Founder & CEO, Tom Hansen, personally witnessed the attack
on the World Trade Center. Within moments, he volunteered his service
in a burn unit at Ground Zero, where he observed numerous tragic emergency
response and communication failures (US
News:Article). From this unfortunate experience, Tom determined
that he would address these problems with new solutions that could deliver
and share significant visual and text based information and related
content to wirelessly enabled mobile devices.
As a result, the company’s first product, RoadViewer™,
was created and provides the basis for AirVisual’s other product
offerings. RoadViewer is a simple, easy-to-use solution to help manage
roadway travel for emergency responders or commuters with real-time
traffic video. With time, the technology behind RoadViewer had evolved
into an array of mobile applications based on the wireless delivery
of video and other visual intelligence and the ability to function across
multiple networks. Over the next few years, the company conducted primary
market research with security professionals at many federal, state and
local fire and life safety agencies and private companies, which has
resulted in additional solutions such as IntelliViewer™ and TransViewer™ that are practical, reliable
and deliver results.
