AirVisual’s IntelliViewer 2.0 Software Brings Situational awareness to Chicago Public Schools
New York, NY (April 28, 2008) – AirVisual, Inc., a leading solution provider for the enterprise security and public-safety market, today announced it has successfully deployed its IntelliViewer 2.0 software in over 200 Chicago Public Schools in Chicago, Illinois. This important security initiative links cameras installed at each school to the headquarters of Chicago’s Police Department and the city’s 911 center. This comprehensive safety program connects public agencies in a way that has not been done before and allows access to real time information that can be vital during an emergency situation. The integration gives first responders and school security elements the ability to view pre-recorded or live video as well as an array of critical information and content management features and functions. The IntelliViewer 2.0 system was installed to leverage an already existing Honeywell video system and networked utilizing cameras located both outside and inside the schools. The IntelliViewer system was purchased and installed in partnership with RMS Technology Solutions.
“This was a really big project coordinated between the Office of Emergency Management and Communications, the Chicago Public School system, Chicago Police Department, RMS and AirVisual,” said Tom Hansen, AirVisual’s Founder and CEO. I am really pleased to see how working together we were able to deliver a solution that truly works for the benefit of everyone. It works for the children, the faculty, the responders, and the people of Chicago. It just benefits the whole city".
This enhanced security system for the schools is welcomed as part of a city wide plan to further advance the capabilities of its first responders, enabling them to more effectively plan and react when engaged in an emergency or other catastrophic event and to better serve the people of the city on a daily basis.
The IntelliViewer 2.0 system is an open architecture, multi-vendor, IP-based content distribution platform created to deliver live camera and video images and text-based data to desktop and mobile subscribers from a wide-variety of content sources. The platform connects to video sources, access control, RF-ID, sensor networks, and performs adaptive routing, optimization, distribution, and delivery of content based on a rules and permissions based system. The AirVisual Content Delivery Platform accelerates delivery of rich video and supplementary content to mobile subscribers, reduces network traffic, and reduces costs for partner content distributors. The content delivery platform is the foundation of the company’s multitude of integrated products and services.
