Frequently Asked Questions

What is AirVisual’s approach to situational awareness?
Situational awareness is something that should be commanded from a control center but also shared with responders in the field.  Situational awareness is an essential component to anything and everything that has a need to be protected but privacy needs to be maintained for owners of the things that need protecting.  Permissions are central to privacy and being a useful tool.  Notification of events to all interested stakeholders in the case of a defined event should be reliable and the comfort of knowing that people will be alerted.  Permissions should be shifted to allow responding personnel the access to necessary situational awareness as soon event transpires.

What security cameras does AirVisual interface with?
AirVisual’s software works with all cameras.

What camera types are supported?
Both types of cameras are supported.  IP camera types are added on an as-needed basis.  Analog cameras are usually PAL or NTSC.  The analog compatibility is more a function of the DVR being used and what it can support.

What DVRs/NVRs does your service work with?
We work with all DVRs/NVRs.

What wireless networks does your service work on?
Our software is built to work with all wireless networks; GSM, CDMA, EVDO, EDGE, GPRS and 802.11 to name a few.

What wireless devices does your service work on?
Our software works on all wireless mobile devices; Pocket PCs, Palm devices, Windows tablets and notebooks running a Windows or Symbian operating system.

What types of sensors does Intelliviewer interface with?
AirVisual integrates with all types of sensor networks.

How does IntelliViewer manage, display, & controls sensors?
IntelliViewer stores in a database, enough information to display the sensor in the UI.  The database also stores enough information for the product to utilize the API provided by the manufacturer of the sensor.  IntelliViewer allows, on a permission type basis, clients to control the sensors if applicable.  IntelliViewer will block out other users while a sensor is being commanded.  Any client can view output of a sensor if given the correct permission level.

Does IntelliViewer support full motion at full resolution?
The system will “throttle” the frames-per-second and resolution depending on the connection type.  In the case of a good connection and the proper requesting device, the system will support full motion at full resolution.

How many cameras, sensors and access control points can I integrate?
There are no limitations on numbers of cameras, sensors, access control points or users.

What type of infrastructure requirements do you recommend?
The installation needs to have some type of communications structure that is internet protocol (IP) based.  Command Center version of IntelliViewer and the server reside on an Ethernet network.
